In 2025, dividends paid by companies on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange reached a record US$ 1.419 billion, increasing by 14.4% compared to the previous year. The financial sector led this growth, followed by public services and consumer goods.

Buenos Aires, Jan 3 (NA) – Dividends distributed in 2025 by companies listed on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange amounted to US$ 1.419 billion, the highest amount in the last six years. This was reported by BYMA, the company in charge of the stock market, according to the Argentine News Agency. This report reflects a 14.4% increase compared to 2024, five times more than in 2020. The volume of dividends was led by financial services companies, with US$ 740 million. Grupo Financiero Galicia topped the ranking with US$ 271 million, followed by Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos (BYMA) with US$ 175 million, and Banco Macro with US$ 157 million. After 2021, which marked the low point of the period with only US$ 152 million distributed—a 48% drop from 2020—the market began a recovery. In 2022, it reached US$ 489 million and accelerated in the last two years. Last year, 29 companies paid dividends to their shareholders in some form (cash, shares, or in-kind). 91% of the distributions were made in cash, while the remaining 9% were paid in shares and in-kind. The top five companies accounted for over 60% of the total amount distributed, while the top ten payers represent over 80%. Of the 83 companies listed on BYMA at the end of 2025, less than half distribute any type of dividends. Financial Services concentrate the largest dividend flow, with US$ 740.8 million, although it shows a 17% year-on-year drop. Public Services was the second most relevant sector, with US$ 266.3 million (a 518% year-on-year increase), driven mainly by Transener, Gas BAN, Distribuidora de Gas del Centro, and Ecogas. Basic Consumption distributed US$ 246.5 million (+61% year-on-year), led by Molinos Agro, Molinos Río de la Plata, and Cresud. Real Estate contributed US$ 138.7 million (+6% year-on-year), with IRSA as the main protagonist. From the Energy sector, Comercial del Plata was the only company to pay cash dividends in 2025 (US$ 1.9 million). Communications again distributed dividends (in-kind) in 2025, driven by CVH.
